Dr. Moritz Senarclens de Grancy
Dr Moritz Senarclens de Grancy has a long term experience as consultant to leaders, executives and teams. I support young professionals as well as senior leaders in developing their professional chances and in meeting new challenges in their careers. I studied law, psychology, cultural science and politics in Passau and Berlin and have been consulting to leaders of different areas for many years. I am a regular author and guest editor of relevant scientific journals and books. As chair of the planning committee, I organized the ISPSO’s 37th Annual Conference in Berlin in 2021.
My understanding of coaching
In my work with young professionals and executives I am guided by three questions:
- What does the client's next step look like that makes him or her come to me in the current situation?
- What are the organizational circumstances in which my client moves and what role does he or she play in them?
- What is the relationship between my client and his or her own past that is worthwhile knowing in order to handle the future successfully?
Methodologies and Style
I combine the psychodynamic-systemic approach with the perspective of governance and leadership – as the distribution of tasks, roles, and responsibilities. In listening to my clients I am tempted to disclose unconscious processes and patterns of behavior, all in the constellation in which leaders and their teams operate.
Situations in which I am effective
I am usually called in for personal challenges, strategic reflections on career development and decision making processes. These can be promotion or onboarding as well as career slumps, burnout or repeated conflicts with superiors or colleagues.
