Mike Wort

I aim to create an environment in which the Coachee feels secure to explore difficult issues in depth. I bring a non-judgemental listening with curiosity and 18 years professional experience working for global corporates in marketing and business development roles and working and teaching in public and private educational institutions, most recently at INSEAD Business school for INSEAD MBA and INSEAD Executive Education. I hold a Coaching for Leadership and Professional Development Certificate from the Tavistock Institute, a Post Graduate Certificate in Education (PGCE) and BA in International Business and French. I currently live with my partner near to Paris and am currently embracing my new role as a proud, new father.

My understanding of coaching

I offer personalised coaching, which will be adapted specifically to your developmental needs and career stage. I will provide a contained space and provide support for aspects of your professional and personal journeys, which can help you to think more strategically, improve your understanding of others and lead to improvements in performance and well-being. 

Methodologies and Style

We will consider your “roles”, and how you “take up” your roles and as an individual. We will explore together some of the “below the surface” issues in the organisation, and yourself, as part of wider systems.

We can discuss what effectiveness might look like in environments of continuous change, examine your capacity for leadership, think about different ways of exerting influence and reflect on the psychological processes of occupying a senior role. We can also allow space for future motivations to help prepare you for future roles.

Drawing from a broad repertoire of models, I favour a predominantly “non-directive” approach and will teach skills when appropriate.

Situations in which I am effective

We can look at behaviour the individual, group/team, organisational context and environmental levels. Through exploring issues and by making the unconscious, conscious, assumptions and thinking will evolve. With awareness, particularly to some of the “underlying” mechanisms at work, different ways of thinking, feeling relating and being will present themselves as possible choices for new behaviours.
