Coaching, also known as "Executive Coaching" at management level, can help you take a career step or to change your role in a targeted way. Usually you take a career step after the MBA, but nevertheless your role will change. Perhaps there will also be a change of company.

In all cases, it is important to quickly adapt to the new role and to show the expected performance. You may have heard of "the 100 days rule" before. You usually have this time to achieve initial results and to show that the decision to hire you was the right one. Coaching can help you to meet this expectation. Think of you coach like a sports coach who will support you with your preparation for a top tournament. 

During the last semester of your MBA studies you have the opportunity, depending on availability, to work with one of several coaches who will support you through up to six joint sessions before you complete your MBA, while making the professional transition. The costs for this are borne by the program. Currently the program is in its "beta phase", which means, that not all students will be eligible for the program, and it is not yet a formal part of the MBA program structure. If you are interested, please contact us. After a positive reply from our side, you can contact up to three individual coaches through us. After an initial discussion of approx. 60 minutes, you and your coach decide together whether you can imagine continuing to work together. If the decision is mutually positive, we coordinate the contract with the coach and you can start working, focussing on the coaching process alone.

This offer, if not unique in Germany, is at least extraordinary, because hardly any public education provider has such a large selection of highly qualified coaches in its portfolio.

360° Multirater Feedback / Potential Analysis

Depending on your needs, the coaching is accompanied by a 360-degree potential analysis. You will have the opportunity to obtain feedback from different perspectives. For this purpose the following persons will be interviewed:

  • Colleagues (peers, on the same level), 
  • Your employees,
  • Your direct manager,
  • if necessary, other stakeholders (such as internal or external customers)

You will get feedback about specific dimensions, which differ depending on the instrument. These can include, for example, the following topics:

  • Dealing with uncertainty
  • Risk taking
  • Decision making
  • Resilience
  • Emotional intelligence
  • Influencing and negotiation style
  • Creating urgency for and supporting change
  • ...

In consultation with the coach, it is discussed whether and which instrument can be used. 

Our Coaches

The term coaching itself is not a formalized profession. Anyone can call himself or herself a coach. Due to this, it is very important for us to handpick the team, to ensure the highest possible quality in professional education and experience. All our coaches are seasoned personalities who are successful themselves, in their professional life. Through the different backgrounds and life paths, all coaches offer different and due to this, fresh perspectives to support you in your own development. All of them strive to support you becoming more successful in your (new) role.

Feedback of our coachees

The best feedback you can get is, to ask people who actually participated as a coachee and made the experience first hand. Here is what they say (per translation into English, if neccessary) so far:

How to become a Coachee

If you want to take advantage of the coaching program, the process is as follows:

  1. Before the last semester of the MBA, take a look at the profiles of the coaches and select up to 3 coaches with whom you can imagine working. Please take your time and talk to three coaches. You might think, that the first coach might be a perfect match already. It might also be, that your feeling says something different, after the third coach, you meet. Even if you had a  first discussion, that you would consider as "not good", this can be an amazing learning opportunity. In our experience, this will lead to a better decision on on your side, due to a more comprehensive perspective and deeper understanding about what coaching might be for you.
  2. Contact us with the names of the three coaches and we will give you the contact details, to get in touch.
  3. Get in touch with the coaches and get to know each other without obligation. All our coaches are highly trained, from a business perspective successful and very experienced. At the same time, each person individually, is an exceptional personality from very different walks of life. Please select the one coach, who "feels" like the fest fit for you.
  4. After you and your coach have confirmed to us that you want to work together, we draw up the formal (financing) contract with the coach.
  5. As soon as the contract is signed, we will let you know and you can start working together. 
  6. After a total of six joint sessions of approximately 60+ minutes each, we will ask you for a brief feedback on the offer. 

In addition to the contract we conclude with the coach, which deals with the remuneration, the coach may also conclude a coaching-contract with you. Among other things, the following aspects might be explained and regulated in this contract:

  • The goal / focus of the coaching
  • How to deal with "no-shows"
  • Venue where the coaching takes place
  • Confidentiality, etc. 

We do not see the contract between you and the coach.
